The local history museum is located in the "Talhaus" next to the church. The collection, started by local people many years ago, reflects the origins of a village which relied initially on farming alone and then developed into an international tourist resort.
In 1999, the Year of the Pilgrim, the 3 following picturesque footpaths in Grindelwald were constructed and sign-posted as "Pilgrim's Ways to the legendary location of the St. Petronell Chapel" (near the Glacier Gorge). With a click you can find out more about the important points along the way.
The old marble quarry lies on a hill 120 meters above the end of the gorge of the Lower Glacier close to the Marmorbruch restaurant. The area is freely accessible.
